    Hi all.
    I've just changed my ISP.
All was fine with the wireless side.
However, I use ethernet on my main computer but it would not work, telling me the gateway was an issue.
The IP config was showing 192.168.1.254, my old gateway.
I suggested to the 'help' line operator that a CMD netsh reset may work.
They said it may and read out some stuff to type in the CMD.
After a restart the gateway was still the same.
They gave up after 46 minutes and told me to take my computer to a shop!!!
I decided to try entering settings manually into the TCP IP and it worked.
For future reference, why does this happen and what should have been entered in the CMD to reset the IP config?
    Cheers.

    Hmmm.
Nothing like what the 'tech' guy said.
    Cheers.

If you were at level I support, they usually have a script they go from to cover the troubleshooting.rolleyes
Although the TCP/IP reset is pretty standard to get you back to defaults across all Win OS's. I would think that would be somewhere in their script especially since you suggested it to them.;)
