    Hi Folks:

I have a question about defragging. I defraged last night and got this message:

"Some files on this volume could not be defragmented.
Please check the defragmentation report for the list of these files"

I checked the report and saw some files that were still fragmented. How do you find out what these files are exactly. Is there a way?

Were u using Windows Defragmeter or a third party defragmenter?

The windows defragmentation engine is a very lightweight program, and will never totally defrag a drive. In addition, some files cannot be manipulated by it.
If the number of fragmented files is in the single digits, and the percentage is no more than a few percent, then don't fret over it.

If you are curious, you can search for the files in the report to see what data or programs they pertain to, but it isn't at all necessary in normal operation....

It doesn't say what the files are, never mind where they are. Is there a way to tell? Am I just not understanding the report?
