delay when xp starts up

    win xp boots up really fast but it takes it a while to compltly load all the services.like 2min delay,till then i cant run any proceeses.
    i already disabled the workstation process.

    I had this same problem before. IT was my NIC card. Do you have DSL? After I disabled my NIC card and switched my DSL connection to USB it fixed the problem.

    Good call, Intel cards are notorious for this. I have a nice onboard Intel card, disabled it the day the PC came in just to put a cheap Linksys card in. Their driver overhead is quite large too. If you dont have an Intel network card, ignore me.

    Also, as for processes, Ill assume you disabled un-needed services? Theres a site called Black Vipers people seem to like, someone can post a link maybe?

    hmm.. not sure if only Intel cards cause the problem. My NIC card is made by 3Com.

    im running amd athlon xp i already disabled unneeded proccesses,not running dsl im 56k.

    disable your Network Interface Card in your device manager and reboot, see if that fixes the problem. Do you use DSL or not?
