My computer was infected with a malware called "zentom" or something like that. I tried removing it using some antivirus sw and then manually. I have been able to delete a number of its files.

I m using windoes XP professional.

All that is left now, where I need help, are

1. {E9C1E1AC-C9B2-4c85-94DE-9C1518918D02}.tlb file under c:\windows\temp which refuses to delete by saying 'this file is already in use'
2. A virus process that runs in my task tray telling me with baloon popup that my system is infected, When i point mouse at it, it disappears
3. A virus process in my Task Manager that wont kill. Cant kill i through taskmanager. Cant kill thru cmd prompt > taskkill \F.
4. The virus creates random fake exe name in my start-programs list.

I tried to search on my computer but was not able to find anymore virus files. I do not know where these things are comign from. I had deleted a number of files and folders earlier that came through the virus. I also reset some registry settings that the virus had modified.

In all this, my computer has been impacted. For some reason I cannot format it right now.
-the right click does not work - it kills explorer.exe
-registry does not open up for long - it vanishes after few seconds
-just like registry, task manager and cmd windows also disappear afterfew seconds
- i tried to install new antivirus but they dont run
- safe mode \ command promt mode doesnt work on my computer (it did not work earlier too)
- when my computer starts, it gives me lots of error messages of this file missing, that dll missing. I assume these files got deleted when SPYBOT tried to clean my syste everytime when it found suspicious file
- during startup I receive a strange message "your computer has reached maximum limit to store secrets as permitted in US standards" ... something like this. Is this another virus?

Please help how to get rid of virus files mentioned above.

Welcome to the Malware Removal Forum.

Please read ALL of this message including the notes before doing anything.

Pleases follow the instructions in the below link:

READ & RUN ME FIRST. Malware Removal Guide

and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

**** If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. ****

Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not. MGtools will frequently run even when all other tools will not.

After completing the READ & RUN ME and attaching your logs, make sure that you tell us what problems still remain ( if any still do )!

Helpful Notes:

If you run into problems trying to run the READ & RUN ME or any of the scans in normal boot mode, you can run the steps in safe boot mode but make sure you tell us what you did later when you post logs. See the below if you do not know how to boot in safe mode:

Starting your computer in Safe mode

If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes ( links are given in the READ & RUN ME) onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. You will have to skip getting updates if (and only if) your internet connection does not work. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.

If you cannot seem to login to an infected user account, try using a different user account (if you have one) in either normal or safe boot mode and running only SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes while logged into this other user account. Then reboot and see if you can log into the problem user account. If you can then run SUPERAntiSpyware, Malwarebytes, ComboFix and MGtools on the infected account as requested in the instructions.

To avoid additional delay in getting a response, it is strongly advised that after completing the READ & RUN ME you also read this sticky:

Any additional post is a bump which will add more delay. Once you attach the logs, your thread will be in the work queue and as stated our system works the oldest threads FIRST.
