Deleted desktop - now only available in recycle bin!

I am using Windows XP home and was deleting some files from my desktop not realising that I had the shift key stuck down on my keyboard and had highlighted everything.

I moved the files to the recycle bin, clicked 'yes' to confirm and got a 'this file will not be deleted message' about my desktop. With a sinking heart I realised that all the icons on my desktop had disappeared, including the 'reveal desktop' icon on my quickstart bar. :(

My desktop is now only to be found in the 'Other places' section in the navigation bar of my recycle bin and I cannot find a way to restore it.

I have put shortcuts to everything back on the screen but I can't change the look and feel without going to the recycle bin. Really, I'd quite like to have it all back.

Anyone know how I do this? Thanks!

OK, I admit to being a thicko. I've scanned some other posts here and gone to the MS database and solved the problem. Just ignore me and close this thread!
