Deleted desktop - now only available in recycle bin!

I am using Windows XP home and was deleting some files from my desktop not realising that I had the shift key stuck down on my keyboard and had highlighted everything.

I moved the files to the recycle bin, clicked 'yes' to confirm and got a 'this file will not be deleted message' about my desktop. With a sinking heart I realised that all the icons on my desktop had disappeared, including the 'reveal desktop' icon on my quickstart bar.

My desktop is now only to be found in the 'Other places' section in the navigation bar of my recycle bin and I cannot find a way to restore it.

I have put shortcuts to everything back on the screen but I can't change the look and feel without going to the recycle bin. Really, I'd quite like to have it all back.

Anyone know how I do this? Thanks!

OK, I admit to being a thicko. I've scanned some other posts here and gone to the MS database and solved the problem. Just ignore me and close this thread!
