Deleted my audio driver.

Hello. Earlier today, I was deleting useless files using Add/Remove Programs when I accidentally deleted my audio driver, specifically "C-Media WDM Audio Driver". Any ideas on how I can reinstall it?

Was this a pre-built PC or Home Built? either way do you have a motherboard driver CD?

Which OS you using?

DO you know the name and model of your motherboard? ( if not download this EVEREST install and run then click Motherboard > Motherboard and under motherboard name it will tell you name / model )

Then armed with that info goto manufacturers site and lookup your motherboards and their will be a section to download drivers.

if you get stuck post back and one of us maybe able to find the driver for you with the new info provided.

Thanks for the quick reply. I bought it second-hand, it's home-built if I'm not wrong. No, I don't think I have a motherboard driver CD. I'm using Windows XP Professional Edition and according to Everest:

Motherboard Name: MSI 865GM (MS-6752) (3 PCI, 1 AGP, 1 CNR, 2 DIMM, Audio, Video)
Motherboard Chipset: Intel Springdale-G i865G

I visited the Intel site and found my chipset. Under driver downloads were the following:

Graphics Driver
Intel® Chipset Software Installation Utility
Intel® Application Accelerator - RAID Edition

Which of these do I download? Thanks again.

The Intel Chipset Software you found above is a vital driver for overall stability and performance of your PC, you can check its installed by following this http://support.intel.com/support/chipsets/inf/sb/CS-009267.htm?iid=chipsets+infmain&

and if its not installed download only the Chipset Software Installation Utility
