I need to delete an empty system file, entitled "owner" from : c:\Documents and Settings.
I need to do this while the volume is dismounted.
Is there a way to do this, or must I make a boot disc with a command list included.

Can I use an old DOS boot disc, which has full set of functions included?
Can I use my XP installation CD?

    Thanks in advance.

MoveOnBoot will delete files or folders when the computer boots up again and before windows loads. When you install the program it adds an item to your right click menu. You right click the directory you want gone and select MoveOnBoot, then you are given several options.

If it's empty, why delete it??? And.... are you sure it's empty? It may have some hidden files/folders in it that might be needed. Open the folder, click Tools up at the top, click Folder Otpions, click the View tab. Scroll down and enable the viewing of hidden files and folders, and system files and folders. Then be sure it's empty before you remove it. If Windows is trying to stop you from deleting it, that sends up a red flag saying maybe it should not be removed....
