Dell Computer ?

I have a dell inspiron model 3276 computer. If any one has a dell computer I have a question for them. I have two sound ports on the front of the computer and 3 at the top of the computer one of those in the back is a line in(?) can you tell me what the three on the back does and the two on the front as well.

In the past I have been able to copy music from my external cd player to the line in on the back of the tower.
For some reason this is not working, so if someone can give me information on my problem would appreciate it.

 

Unfortunately, I got rid of my Dell desktop computer some years ago and now only have Dell laptops. But, I CAN tell you that one of the front ports is for earphones or connection to external amplified speakers.

 

I happened to think. If you go to the Dell Support site and enter your Service Tag number then go to Drivers and Downloads, you might be able to download the Setup guide and that would tell you what all of the ports are. If not, download the Service Manual.

 

I don't have a Dell, but I suspect each pair is a speaker/headphone output and a microphone input. Look close for markings or colors.

 

Front.
Pink: Microphone.
Green: Earphone/headphone/speakers.

Back.
Pink: Microphone.
Green: Line Out (Earphone/headphone/speakers).
Blue: Line In.

You must set Line In as the default recording device.
