Dell Driver Help, cannot download

I have a Dell Inspiron E1505/6400 laptop with Windows Vista. For years I have had no problems downloading drivers from the Dell website. I went to download drivers from the Dell website and when I push the download button on any driver download the top of the screen turns gray and I cannot download the driver. It does not matter which driver I am trying to download. This makes no sense and has never happened before when I have used Dell support to download drivers. ( I have been to other forums and the response is that the individual is trying to download a video or monitor driver, this is not the issue I am talking about.)
I logged into my account, my service tag comes up, my drivers are there, I try to download any driver and the top half of screen goes gray and cannot download the driver. The download process does not even begin. I tried contacting Dell by email etc and of course they want to charge me to respond.

There is no need to log in on the dell site. Just go here and enter your service tag number.

I posted the following info in a different thread, it was also about problems with the Dell download site....

Be sure your browser is NOT running when you clean your cookies and temp files. Then make your way back to the Dell downloads for your PC, when you try to download, you should get a screen like the one below..... use the highlighted options in that screen shot and you should be fine....

dlb: Thank you for your input. I had previously gone to the site shnerdly suggested before my post and had the same result. I just now did the following:
1. used c cleaner-no browser connected
2. went to the site Shnerdly suggested
3. hit download button on several drivers, I know for a fact the driver is the correct one for my system
4.The top half of the page goes gray and I do not even get to the screen you attached.

Further info: I went to the Dell driver site approximately 6 weeks ago and downloaded a driver and the screen you show, dlb, came up and I selected to use Dell's download manager and was sucessful in downloading the driver. The problem I am having with the site started to occur after that incident.

I went back to the driver site through my account and noticed something that I had not seen before. The site states that I have 46 saved driver lists. There is a drop down box with the name of the lists, list 1, list 2, etc, but no drivers listed. There is a button to delete the list but when I try once again the top half of the screen goes gray and I am not able to delete the list.

I keep my system very clean and defragmented on a regular weekly schedule and manually when necessary. Any other suggestions? I really appreciate your responses. Thank you!
