Dell Keyboard

I have a Dell keyboard model RTD750 several times the numbers will not will not type in. I noticed that the numbers lock was not lit. I could not get it to lock. Tried to find manual on internet no luck. I wonder if anyone could tell me how to get it to lock/work.

 

Go to the Dell Support site for your country and either put the full model number of the system itself or, better still, your Dell Service Tag number that is on a sticker on your system and in your sales documents.
You will find links there to your keyboard including a user manual.

Try another keyboard and see if the problem is still there - or try that keyboard on another computer.

 

Hey, be glad your keyboard has lights; most new ones don't anymore.
And I keep finding that almost nobody knows that, when you press the numlock or capslock keys, the computer sends back the command to turn the light on or off (it toggles) which lets you know the PC is still paying attention to what you tell it to do.
Almost all older Dell PC's have an option in the BIOS to turn on numlock (or not) each time the PC boots. You get to the BIOS by hitting F2 several times while the Dell logo is on the screen, before Windows boots.

Yeah, the only light on my keyboard is for low battery since it is a wireless keyboard. Many wired keyboards still have NumLock and CapsLock (and some times Scroll Lock) lights but as noted, many do not. However, many keyboards come with software that pops up a little message "bubble" in the lower right of your screen to tell you when/if you press the NumLock or CapsLock key. That works for me.
