I play a game on iwon.com, and recently when I am on the website for a short period of time I get redirected to a google search page. When I click on "what's this", I get this message:
This page was generated because of one of these two reasons:

The web address you typed did not resolve correctly.

You typed a keyword query in the browser address bar.

This page is meant to provide you with helpful related content, including web search results and paid advertisements, based on the meaning of the web address/keyword query that you typed. This program can be uninstalled from the Control Panel "Add/Remove Programs" in Windows XP or "Control Panel > Program > Programs and Features" in Windows Vista. Look for the application named "Browser Address Error Redirector". Older versions may be called "GoogleAFE" or "URL Assistant".

I have looked for these programs to uninstall, but show nothing in my add/remove programs.

Does anyone have an idea why this started happening and how I can correct it?:confused:confused

    Hi,
Windows XP. I reinstalled Windows internet explorer 8, hoping that would take care of the problem, but now I cannot even access the iwon webpage.

Look at he directions below, I think in IE8 it is just Tools and the Manage Addons. Do you see either "CBrowserHelperObject" or “BAE.dll”?

Disabled it, but still cannot access the website.

    Hi

Just a note on iwon.com....according to WOT (Web of Trust), which is an addon for Firefox that helps with safe surfing, it has an extremely poor rating and numerous (pages) of reports on malicious content and infection caused by using the site.

I agree with LauraR that iwon.com is a suspect site. But it looks like it it more annoyance software than malicious http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/iwon.com

If you copy/paste the whole address into the address bar does it take you to the site? http://home.iwon.com/iwon-homepage/home.jhtml

If it does then you probably still have a redirect software running. Which site do you get to from just typing in iwon.com in the address bar?

It used to be my homepage. Now when I log into internet explorer, I get a blank page. When I copy and paste the iwon address it thinks for a moment and then takes me to the MSN website.

Try Start>Run, type iexplore –extoff and this will open up IE8 without add-ons.

    Can you get to iwon.com?
