    Hi folks

wonder if someone might help. I just purchased a Dell XPS gaming system with 2GB corsair memory, Intel core 2, Quad CPU Q6600@2.4ghz running XP Professional Sv.Pk 2, Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT.

I'm getting BSOD (driver-irql-not less or equal) and the message NVGTS.SYS.

    Happens infrequently but still annoying.

I have updated all the drivers but it's still a problem.

(I was also getting a bluescreen playing Call of Duty 4 multiplayer but that turned out to be Punkbuster.)

Anyone have any insight or solutions? :confused

    Welcome to MajorGeeks,

If it's just happening when you play certain games, I would read this (search for the game in white paper)

    http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/169.21/169.21_WinXP_Forceware_Release_Notes.pdf

Also, did you get the new driver from Nvidia, if not try downloading and installing.

Also if you just purchased the machine, it's still under warranty. Run Dell troubleshooter and open a service ticket via the online help (don't call you will get better help online usually).

I recently re-installed my dell xps system. Everything was running well till I installed the video card(s) driver then my computer would not load past the windows sign in screen or it sometimes would but as soon as i started to do something, BSOD with the IRQL and NVGTS.SYS. I've deleted the driver that came with the disk in safe mode and installed the updated one on the dell web site, STILL BSOD upon loading. So my last choice was to install the driver strait from nvidia for my 8800gt card(s), STILL gettin BSOD!! Can anyone one assist me on gettin my computer up and running again? By the way, as I write this I completely wiped my system and just for the hell of it added a partition. And the only thing I added a blu-ray reader to the second cd slot, anything else i added is USB.

Thanx for your help in advance.

Makes me want to switch back to Mac's......
