Deputy charged in wheelchair-dumping incident

A sheriff's deputy who was videotaped dumping a paralyzed man from a wheelchair onto a jailhouse floor has been charged with abuse of a disabled person, a sheriff's official said.

Deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones, 44, has been charged with one count of felony abuse of a disabled person.

Hillsborough County Deputy Charlette Marshall-Jones, 44, turned herself in and was booked into the Orient Road Jail early Saturday, jail records show.

She was charged with one count of felony abuse of a disabled person and released after posting $3,500 bail.

Surveillance footage from January 29 shows Marshall-Jones dumping Brian Sterner out of his wheelchair and searching him on the floor after he was brought in on a warrant for a traffic violation.

What! This is to serve and protect!? Why didn't they search him before transporting the guy! I don't get it at all. I'd like to meet her in a dark alley with her legs tied together!:mad :boxing Plus the the other 'officer' having a good laugh. Hey judge, throw the book at them!!!:guns

Good, what else could they do though with such wide exposure. Just imagine all the ones we don't see. Also what about the others who did nothing to stop it and the fool who walked off laughing? They should bare some responsibility too. Seems woman are more forcefully then most men, maybe something to prove.
She'll be reinstated later I bet.

If nothing else it might prevent similar incidents in the future. Personally I think this cop is too dumb to be allowed to carry a badge.
