desktop background browser showing all pictures

i just noticed something weird when i went to change my desktop background. in the 'desktop' tab of display properties, you know that little box that has a bunch of default backgrounds listed in it? well now its showing me every single pic thats in my "My Pictures" folder and subfolders. i dont know how this happened, but i'd like to switch back to how it originally was if that's possible. does anyone know how i can do this?

oh right, sorry. i'm using windows XP

 

Make a folder inside My Pictures(right-click>new>folder), name it whatever you want, then drag and drop all of the pictures into the new folder.

If it still shows up in the list, reboot.
