    Ok, before i begin this, i want to note that i am running out of patience and have been working on trying to fix my problem for a couple weeks now with no luck, ive had problems before but nothing this difficult to fix. Anyways, i HAVE read the neccessary articles on here that attempt to help with desktop hijackings and similar things. Im tired of reading, i have read ALOT and nothing seems to help.... plz help.... thanks.

    Ok, the problem is on a Dell Inspiron laptop (dunno if this matters..) i am running windowsME on it. Everything has been going fine, i use Firefox, and am very careful navigating the internet and dont download what i dont need. One day i just turned off my computer as normal. a few hours later i turn it back on to get online. When i reach the desktop, all my desktop icons are gone. the only thing left now on my desktop is My Documents, My COmputer, My Network Places, Recycle Bin, Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook. There is a blue screen, and no wallpaper that i had on there. The Start menu is disabled, My Documents is disabled, i cannot get online with either IE OR Firefox, cannot open any folder. I can run a search for folders/files but cannot open them either.

    Basically, on normal mode, i cant do much. Now, when i reboot and start with Safe Mode, im able to open folders, and view whats in it, but i cannot open actual files like music, movie, program files. I cant get online either cuz im on Safe Mode. i cannot drag items to the desktop or create folders. I can do Virus Scans With AGV (i think thats the name) but nothing comes up, ive done about 5 scans. I know alot of the help articles here ask for downloads of programs to help with problems, but i cant even use the internet to download such programs :(

    With Safe Mode, i CAN open the msconfig file. but i dunno if that helps and what i should do with it. Also, just out of curiousity, after just browsing around on my computer i found this on the IE Folder, it was a notepad named Desktop and it had [.ShellClassInfo]confirmFile=0 CLSID={FF393560-C2A7-11CF-BFF4-444553540000}

    well, thats all the info i have as of now, if more is needed ill do my best. thanks in advance guys.
