desktop hijacker troubles

    i'm having trouble with my computer. my desktop was hijacked with a white background that reads "warning! spyware threat detected! system error #1752 .......".

    All of my desktop icons still appear and from what i can tell all of my applications still function properly. When I right click on my desktop to change properties it says " warning! spyware threat detected!" and will not allow me access.

    PLEASE HELP!

    You're welcome! Happy to hear it worked but I would like to see the requested log. It helps us to keep track of things being detected and let's us know when new things popup. Think of it as educational for us and as a double check that all was fixed.

    I've attached the requested log file.
    Sorry... I forgot to include it on my previous reply and was out of town all weekend (without my computer).

    FYI... my computer did not contain the 'stickrep', 'suprox', or 'xenadot' .dll files mentioned in the instructions. However, the problem was solved and everything is back to normal.

    Thanks for attaching the log! Yes SmitRem remove a couple baddies. By the way a new bad DLL has been added to that list. The list is now:

    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\stickrep.dll (or C:\Winnt\system32\stickrep.dll )
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\suprox.dll (or C:\Winnt\system32\suprox.dll )
    • C:\WINDOWS\system32\xenadot.dll (or C:\Winnt\system32\xenadot.dll)
    • C:\WINDOWS\System32\sivudro.dll (or C:\Winnt\system32\sivudro.dll )
