hi all. i have a strange problem. most of my icons have been changed to have this little well what looks to be a red profile of a man on them. has anyone seen or had this happen before and how can i fix it? i thought it was possibly from installing comodo internet security premium but i uninstalled that and theyre still the same. i dont think its a icon corruption because its too uniform and while most have it my play list files, recyle bin, and cacaoweb dont have it. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks.

I've had this issue as well. Weird thing is, that icon will sometimes change to something else. But it will be constant to all.

I'm trying to remember how I fixed it.

well thats the thing. they were the same icons just with the little red guy added on them. i dont know of anything that only slightly alters a icon while keeping the originalicon except for like the little arrows on shortcuts.

Do you use Mozy or a similar backup program?
I'm seeing that it is a red exclamation point and means your files need to be backed up.

    Greetings, gillotte.

Try uploading a screenshot of your startup programs - maybe we could spot something there.

In fact, why don't you do this:

Download and run Everest, a free system information tool.

When the program opens, click 'Report > Quick Report - All pages > Plain text'.

When the scan completes, click 'Save to file', name the file 'Report', and save to an easily found location, such as your Desktop.

Then attach that file to your next post.

Negative - do not post a HijackThis log.

Everest will show us what we need.

Are all the icons effected actually shortcuts or are some regular files?

I tried that before I posted. Unfortunately your shot is just too small and I have senior citizen eyes. I had to guess what you were talking about.
