Desktop Icons and 'Start' toolbar keep disappearing

I was downloading some music and software and this seemed to screw up my computer. Whenever I start up my computer, the desktop icons and toolbar on the bottom disappear then reappear every 10 seconds or so. Then after about 5 times, they completely disappear. I can only run programs by going to the task manager and every time i try to go to internet explorer, it freezes. I ran Spy Bot and AVG, and the problem still exists. I suppose I will do the superantispware, combotools and MG programs. In the meantime, any ideas? Help Please!! THanks

If you are suspecting malware, you will have to complete the instructions you are referring to from the READ & RUN ME and then attach the logs. Yes there are a variety of malware infections that can and do play with your Desktop. Sometimes it is due to terminating the Windows shell which is explorer.exe and the operating system will normally restart it after awhile. There is also a possibility that this is not due to malware. By posting the logs, we will know.
