Desktop Icons gone?

    Hello Guys,

    I have been playing Call of Duty 4 alot recently, and in order to play online, each time I have to disable my firewall(PC Tools Firewall Plus), and last night, I had quit playing COD4, and All my desktop icons..GONE!!

    I have scanned for viruses, spyware with Spybot Search and Destroy, A Squared free, and Avast, and they pulled up 1 Virus, which had infected one of my songs....(Wtf?:confused)..any way, i fixed that, and I still cannot for the life of me figure out where my icons went?

    I can reload most of them by going properties-> change icon-> reselcting the icon-> Apply->Ok. They reload, but once I shut back down and restart, they disappear again.
