Desktop icons not showing up.

Alright, for some reason my desktop icons are " hidden".
when I right click the start button and click "explore" I can still see all my icons and everything that would normally be on the desktop. My desktop itself is blank. I have searched and searched but I can not find a solution.
I might have hit something on my keyboard, I know my hand hit my keyboard and then I looked at the monitor and I had no icons, I ran virus scan, restarted, searched on google. I'm just having trouble.

I can still use everything just fine also.. it just wont show my icons.

Ahhh thank-you I've also bookmarked that page to go back and read up on other things I may not know about Who knew you could do that? My man was mad and beating the mouse up in MOH and when he got out he was like "where'd all the icons go?" .... Grrrrr, thanks muchly

 

TimW: My icons disappeared last night and I've spent hours trying to figure out how to get them back..............one of many links pulled up this site and there you are with the answer. Did what you said and they were back immediately......THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have a feeling I'm going to be using MajorGeeks a lot!
