Desktop Icons

My desktop icons all changed pictures and turned into a picture of a browser, i dont know what its called...it just happened when i walked downstairs for an orange. I dont think it was virus and when i click F5 to refresh it still doesnt come back. I try getting different shortcuts on my desktop from the startmenu but some of them still changed pictures. Can somebody tell me why this happened and how i switch it back?

 

If you are talking about the generic icon for objects that are shortcuts, documents, etc, then it is possible that you need to do a "Repair" on your icons. If you have TweakUI from Microsoft, http://download.microsoft.com/download/f/c/a/fca6767b-9ed9-45a6-b352-839afb2a2679/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe you can repair the icon cache that way.
