Desktop not refresh / not existing...

Hi guys, this is a weird one for me.

I have a brand new (fresh install) XP Service Pack 3 on my PC. Before any internet use began I installed Nod 32, Sygate, CCleaner, Glary, and Spybot, and have been running them scheduled and religiously since day 1.

Starting yesterday, I noticed that if I were to save a file on the desktop - it wouldn't show up. Odd. So, I hit refresh on the desktop (right click : refresh) and they show up.

    Files not refreshing, weird.

Now, it's telling me that c:\documents and settings\username\desktop refers to a place that doesn't exist. If I go into the account, the desktop folder is missing. I can add it, save files, but the process repeats.

This is fixed by a restart but happens over and over and over again.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks!
