Desktops Vs. Laptops

Desktop Computers have really taken the lead!!

desktop, because there's no way for me to lose it at starbucks. i don't have any business related stuff to deal with, so my iPhone works great for email, surfing, some games, TONS of ebooks & music for when i'm out and about.

there are probably apps to get closer to desktop functionability (documents/spreadsheets, bluetooth printing, etc.) but i don't really have the need. i know you can get a usb mouse & folding keyboard for a laptop (can't stand the track pad & smaller keyboard), but i like my larger monitor, keyboard & mouse with my desktop and they're generally less expensive, still.

i just found out that i can run XP on a Mac (didn't know that til i went and checked out Apple's info in detail), so my next pc is definitely going to be a Mac.

 

I greatly prefer a desktop over a laptop . . . desktops tend to have a much better performance/cost ratio then your average laptop. Plus, I have a nice study set up just the way I like it (wife calls it clutter central) and I like chilling in there with all my stuff

I built my current desktop system over four years ago, and it still performs excellently. It has gone through several upgrades (another plus for the desktop format); the most recent being a radeon HD3850 video card.

We recently bought a laptop for the wife - it is the first one that has even come close to performing as well as my trusty desktop. I like it - and in fact have considered getting one for myself, as a lappy would come in handy with some of the work I do now . . . but when I'm at home I'll be using the desktop, thank you very much! She, however, has largely abandoned the desktop I built for her in favor of the Laptop. I don't think her desktop has even been on since she got her lappy . . . I feel sorry for it :-D
