Okay, MB is a GA-7N400Pro2 (Rev.2) At the POST screen, there is a part that states 'detecting IDE drives,' which seems to take forever. (actually, only about 15 seconds, but at my age that IS forever!!) The problem is, I have NO IDE drives, except the floppy, both the HDD and DVD\RW are both SATA. Is there a way I can prevent that IDE detection on boot? Granted, that really isn't a problem, but with my antique system I figure that any little bit would help! At present, my boot time, from the second I hit the power button till I get to a useable desktop, is 68 seconds using Win2000 Pro (SP4). Thanks!!
