I am going to live in a rather poor Asian country for 6 months, and I am concerned that when I access my bank account online in an internet cafe, there may be a keystroke logger installed on the computer. If someone was able to access my bank account this way, it would be a major nightmare.
Is there any way of telling when one of these is installed ? Obviously I could look at installed programs, but can these loggers sometimes be concealed ?
Where could I get a list of common names ?
Or should I just ask my sister to access my account from her own computer at home, and send me the details ? I know this is probably the best way, but I don't like asking her as she is so busy already.......

Don't access your bank account using a wireless connection.

New nasties are created daily so what is current today may not apply in a few weeks from now.
Also, each security company uses a different name for the same item so it can get confusing well fast.

You should be learning about VPNs (virtual private networks) which would allow you to create a secure tunnel from your wireless computer to your sister's wired one. This is how people securely work from home to an office computer.

Create a user account on your sister's computer, which I hope is wired and do your access to the bank from her computer, under your user name.
