I just bought a blu-ray drive and I am now trying to figure out what discs it will be compatible with. I tried searching online and I also called the manufacturer. However, I couldn't find the information online and when I called the rep was really clueless.

    Here is the drive:
    Asus BW-16D1HT
Here is the manufacturer's website for this product:
    https://www.asus.com/us/Optical-Drives-Storage/BW16D1HT/specifications/

I want to buy a 100 GB BD-RE BDXL for it on Ebay.

I understand that the drive supports 128GB discs. But, I am not clear if it can do RE (rewriting) with that size disc.

He's was probably clueless because your question confused him. If you look at the link you included above, it shows the disks, and their write speeds.

    BD-R(DL) : 12X
    BD-R(TL/QL) : 6X
    BD-R(LTH) : 6X
    BD-R(SL, M-DISC) : 4X
    BD-RE : 2X
    BD-RE(DL) : 2X
    BD-RE(TL) : 2X
    DVD+R : 16X
    DVD-R : 16X
    DVD+RW : 8X
    DVD-RW : 6X
    DVD+R(DL) : 8X
    DVD-R(DL) : 8X
    DVD+R(SL, M-DISC) : 4X
    DVD-RAM : 5X
    CD-R : 48X
    CD-RW : 24X

90%+ chance that he was clueless because he didn't get sufficient training or he didn't remember what he was taught.

It is quite possible there was insufficient training - most 1st tier tech support are minimally trained, and minimally paid. But he should have figured it out if he just looked at the specs. But again, that may be a training issue. And that is management's fault, not his.

The thing that confused me is that in the specifications it Says BD-RE(TL) 2x but I was more searching for something that says BD-RE BDXL.
    however, on this page
    https://www.amazon.com/Verbatim-100GB-Inkjet-Printable-Spindle/dp/B00POY826G
it implies that the terms are the same.

Yeah, there are so many different Blu-ray media types, it is very confusing. It has to do with whether the discs are write once or many, erasable, write speeds and data densities.

This Online Tech Tips article is the best I have found to explain the difference: What is BD-R, BD-RE, BD-XL and Ultra HD Blu-ray?
