device manager icon??? remove!!?

Sorry, didn't know where to post this, the icon third to the left is really annoying me..is there someway to remove it?

That is a notification icon that you have some sort of USB device attached to your computer. A printer, web cam, keyboard, mouse, etc.

If you right-click on the icon, it will show you which devices are attached.

 

See how this goes.

Right click the taskbar/properties/customize. Find the icon & set it to 'Always Hide'.

 

hey thanks for the replies, the hide icon worked exept now it has that arrow thing which is kind of annoying.........is there something else that can remove it permanently?

 

There is a registry tweak but can I find it?? NO! When it turns up it will end up here.

 

Could not the registry tweak...if it even exists.

Found a little progam HideSRH.exe. Third post from the bottom. Read the entire post if you want. I have not tried the program so don't know how 'easy' it is to use.

 

Go Start -> Run and type msconfig On the Startup Tab all those processes and icons will have a name. You can see what they are and if needed here: http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php Most should be able to be disabled. Keep track of what is what and turn them off one at a time.
