Diagnostic Tools

    one of these thing on my pc is bad how do i find out which one it is? Is there some type of diagnostics tools or something

    its one of these

    Random Access Memory (RAM)
    System board
    Central Processing Unit (CPU)
    Power supply

    there are multiple techniques used for problem diagnosis.
    can you give us a rundown on the exact problem(s) you are experiencing?
    posting your system specifications along with this will also help

    Basically trial and error .....but you could get a leg up if you could run Everest ...to check your ram: Memtest .....if nothing is working .....remove hard drive and ram and see if it boots ...if it does ....replace one stick ram at a time ...borrow a ps if you can and try that .....it would all depend on what is actually happening ......so you could start there and tell us.:)

    Tcomputer keeps restarting on its own and i get this error so i report it to get the suggestion and it says failed device and those were the possibilities.

    at what stage does it keep rebooting, and does this occur in the same spot everytime? Can you get to the desktop?

    What does the error message say? (sometimes you gotta be quick to read em)....

    If this problem has occured recently, try and think back to what you have done before it reared its head! ie did you install any new hardware or software...any new drivers?
