Dial-a-fix does not work with windows 7

    Here is a list of Microsoft Update fix errors that I have not been able to update... I am running a clean install of windows 7 from vista home premium. thank you in advance for your responses::

    Just to be clear in my head, this was a complete clean format and re-install of Windows 7 and not an upgrade install from Vista to 7?


    Try this 1st and as Windows 7 has in-built troubleshooters its worth trying that first, open the Actions Center and click Troubleshooting, then click View All from the left menu, an wait for the udpated troubleshooters list to load, then click Windows Update at bottom.

    This also is known to fix WinUpdate ~ Fix WU

    Try installing one of the updats manually to see if that works ok, just search for the KB number of the update, say KB970892


    Or this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058 is for Vista but should be same for Windows 7

    yes it was a complete reformat and install operation...Thanks for your prompt response... I will take the steps that you advised to take.
