I got this really nice mobo, and Windows 7 ultimate.

I cannot get windows 7 to run either of the modems i have. It cant find drivers for either :( ( right now im on a Sony Vaio, W7 also )

First modem is a Conexant Data fax modem. When i was on XP it called it a Dell Data Fax Modem, infact windows xp treats it like a plug&play it worked like instantly, but on Windows 7 it doesnt have drivers, atleast, not any that come with the install :(

Second modem, is a Intel modem. If you google IA5602.0310 You will find pics of it. It has voice features and stuff like that, but that also has no drivers, or is just unsupported now..

    -things ive tried
Going to the Dell website, cause the first modem was pulled out of an older Dell, but they don't even have windows XP drivers for the modem. Tried drivers for other OS's like NT4.0 Win200 Win98/95 nothing works.

Can anybody please help me find drivers for either modem? or tell me some way to get them to work....i am almost begging because this awesome computer of mine cant even get online. ( a friend told me windows XP drivers for the first modem SHOULD work on W7, but i cant even find them online ;(

    Hi

Without indepth hardware info and or what model Dell that modem came from its difficult to give you a suggestion, a stack of them are HERE

Is there anymodel make and number markings or FCC number on the modem card.

The Intel one I may just have that driver as a search on your id number pulls it up as a AMI-IA56 model and the driver for w2k/Xp is attached, may or may not be the correctly one or actually work in Win7, but worth a try.

Note you will have to install it manually with the Hardware Wizard, clic start then type or past this hdwwiz into the start search box and hit enter, then choose Install Hardware manually from list (advanced) > choose Modems > try letting it auto detect but if not found choose/tick Dont detect my modem > click have disk and navigate to the unzipped folder of the Intel driver and it should list one file in a Intels51.inf if so click Open and follow the prompts and see if that will install.

    Thanks, Halo.

I really did look all over for the drivers for the intel modem, I have no idea where you got them, but I hope they work.

If they do work, ill login on the better comp to thank you :) (forum thanks of course)

    Hi

Found the Intel ones in a folder on my PC with other drivers in, cannot remember having an Intel modem but the search on the ID you gave sparked a thougth that I had that ID on a folder (been deleting old files I dont need but not got aroudn to drivers folder and may now leave it intact as could have drivers for all sorts of hardware that you cannot get now in it), in same folder is a Conexant faxdatamodem but its for Vista 64bit, sadly not 32bit, looked at the inf files to see if it was a dual installer.

Thank you so very much halo, it worked :) you're a life saver. Guess I am lucky you never deleted the old drivers :D
I am definitely going to archive those drivers onto my external HDD so i can install it if i have a problem and need to re-format

    thanked+
