dial up need afire wall ?

    does a dial up connection need a fire wall ? zone alarm says dsl and cable connections .

    any internet connection should have a firewall, irrelevant of the speed.
    remember, if you're connected to the internet without a firewall, you're vulnerable to hackers whatever speed you're running at. if you're on xp then you may consider using the firewall in service pack 2 which works well for everyday browsing.

    I'm on dial-up. I had service pack 2's firewall. Then I installed Zone Alarm, and I have never looked back. :)

    Took a minute to get used to, but wow what a difference it made. :)

    Yep, dialup needs a firewall. Have used ZA on dialup for years, wouldn't be without it. Bazza
