Did I remove it all?

I'm very happy to have run across your site. I had downloaded a packet of trojans/worms/ u name it. I Removed the worst. Erased the cpy files. I used hjackthis and removed things that I felt shouldn't be there. Restarted comp and all was back to normal. Though theres a few questionable things on my log that I'm not sure if they are bad or not.
Someones help appriciated. Thanks

• Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around..

• CounterSpy - ONLY IF you were not able to run Windows Defender
• Bitdefender - from step 6
• Panda Scan - from step 6
• runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
• newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
• HijackThis

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

 

I did as much as Icould from list Windows Defender is for xp I have Windows Me.
Counter spy found 109 files but the used up resouses n blue screened and I had to remove it. ccleaner said not enough memory to erase. Now what?

 

Run the online scanners and attach those logs, also if you can try running CounterSpy in Safe Mode.

 

My comp won't let me do online scans like housecall etc.
Counter spy froze in safe mode. I ran avg, sptybot and hijackthis. Avg says it finds nothing now. Spybot finds stuff but doesn't get rid of it. Same files everytime I run it. Is there any other program to try? It sucks cause notron blue screens,kapersky and panda won't let me connect to internet. Mcafee my trial wore out that's when I got this sucker lol. So stuck with avg which doesn't fix anything. Nevermind that avg says nothing as I'm typing this had 2 pop up saying infected files so nows it's spreading again I guess ugg.
Which online scanners anyways? There might be 1 I haven't tried. My comp is desperate

 

Let me say this, Windows ME is the worst OS Microsoft has ever released IMO. WinME by itself is a disaster waiting to happen, when malware gets on it, it just makes it even worse. Personally, I would backup what I needed and format and perform a clean reinstall. The reason is even if we do remove the malware you will still have multiple problems because it's WinME.

That sucks. I would if I could but my disk are in storage and can't get to them right now. The worst I cleaned up though I guess it can come back again. I've ran spybot a million times still gets same stuff deletes then comes back????I'ld like to keep playing with it. Just need some sort of prog. that is compatable with WinMe. Yes, you don't even need to expain how bad this system is lol. I've been working with it since the end of 99. I'm just use to it now and it's prob.

 

The first thing you can do to help is get rif of Norton. After you do this I would run CounterSpy and remove anything found. Also you need to run CCleaner or CleanUp! or some type drive cleaner.

It's up to you what you do but that is what I would do.
