did i shoot myself in the foot?

after a lot of research and narrowing down, it turns out that the reason (i think) i can't connect to this one web site is because it uses a stylesheet. (i can dial up and get in but not via comcast hsi.) so i saved the page and took a look at the source and it turns out that if i remove .....rel="stylesheet"....from the html source it loads ok. is a browser setting doing this to me or what?
