Did "Run Me First" - still maybe an issue

First, thank you very much for having a site like this. It's a great place to turn when you don't know what to do.
Background: McAfee began showing viruses detected and cleaned. After my computer began to become very slow, I did some research and came acrossed info about xlavba3 and xlavba6.exe. Not knowing what to do, I deleted xlavba3 and 6, but xlavba6 continued to come back and my computer was no better.
I ran the run me first scans, etc. For the most part my PC seems to be running very well (aaplications, etc.). I still notice one thing happening , but don't know if it's related to my previous issues. A large majority of the times I launch a website, IE comes back with IE can not display the page.

For some reason, I can not get the attachment window to open. It says a popup window was blocked, but I have popup blocker off.

I'm having trouble even posting this.

Can you help?

• Make sure you also rename HijackThis.exe as suggested in the procedures. Use analyse.exe for the new name. This is very important due to some new infections going around..

• CounterSpy Log - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
• AVG Antispyware Log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy. - only for Windows XP, 2K, & NT users
• Bitdefender Log - from step 6
• Panda Scan Log - from step 6
• runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
• newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
• HijackThis Log

NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

 

My symptoms are getting worse. I now get the "blue screen" whenever my PC is hooked to the modem. If I unplug from the back of the PC, I can boot up normally. But, odd things occur like multiple (47) Help Center tasks fire off eating up 100% of CPU. I also found 2 backdoor files. I'm afraid my PC has been compromised even if I were successfully able to clean it up. I think I'm going to do a complete reinstall and start over. What do you think?

 

It's completely up to you. We can remove the infections/problems but I will admit, it will take some time, work and patience. The length of the scans can vary but can take hours to run however they are thorough.
