I've been having keyboard problems, or driver problems, or some such...

back now with new keyboard that either doesn't need a driver, or has a different one. (if anyone is interested this saga is listed under 'oh, woe is me' in hardware).

    learned several things.
    1) back everything up on hard copy. (are Cd's 'hard copy' or does the phrase only apply to paper?)
    2) stuff is getting so much cheaper.
    3) my stuff is all considered out of date. not just the puter, but the camera, printer etc. etc. its all TWO WHOLE YEARS OLD.
    4) i missed 'chatting' to you lot more than i would have imagined. its been very frustrating reading threads and not being able to reply. i did have the little on screen keyboard, but its a pain to write anything longer than your password.

so update on my life. LOVING having my daughter back. she was supposed to start work as an OT in Kauai on sept 1. but needs to take American exams first. poor girl. all that studying in england only to find out she has to do it all again here. still i get to have her company for a few weeks longer, so I'm happy. so i have a house full. my brother is staying. he came three months ago and was due back Sunday, but he has decided to stay. (yes i know....yet another illegal!!) my daughter has brought her fiancée with her so there are now seven people and three animals living here. its so good to have another female in the house. i was drowning in all the testosterone. things are all good in paradise.

much aloha. glad to be back.

Welcome back laurieB. Sounds like you've got a house full of fun. Not much room, but a lot of fun. ;)

Can relate to the "out of date" equipment. Whatever you get seems to be outdated about the time you get it running the way you like it. LOL. Did a complete upgrade a few months back due to fried power supply cooking the motherboard. "New" AMD Socket 939 motherboard and CPU, which used PCI-E for vid card, so HAD to upgrade the video at the same time. Shortly before AMD released their new AM2 formfactor and Intel released their new killer Conroe chips. Runs great, but is already obsolete. I was planning on upgrading AFTER the new stuff came out, but no such luck.
