My wife and I am both watching MSNBC streaming. She is upstairs on a TV with built in Roku and ethernet to the router. I am downstairs with a plug in Roku and Wifi.
I am getting my picture 10 seconds before she does. Anyone have a clue?

There could be several reasons for this. The first has to do with your connection to MSNBC. MSNBC may see you as two different connections and you are not being served at the exact same times.

It may also have to do with the buffer size differences between the TV and your Roku device. The bigger buffer has to fill up first before the picture is displayed.

I see similar differences here with regular cable TV too. I have a little cable box in my office and a DVR cable box in the living room. There is about a 5 second difference when watching the same channel. And if I stream that channel over my computer, there is even a greater difference.

I actually find it annoying if I am watching a game, for example, as I am putzing around the house. Oh well.
