Thanks for looking and helping on my laptop, now I'm home and decided to do a clean install but had to go online to get some things and double checking on having a clean restore point.

    Hi TLTD,
    Welcome back!

Your logs are fine. How are you getting along with SP3? Have you noticed any differences?

    Please do the following:

    1) If you do not use Windows Messenger (not to be confused with MSN Messenger!!) I would like you to run Disable/Remove Windows Messenger

    2) Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre1.6.0_06\bin\jusched.exe"

When you finish, just close the program.

    3) To remove the tools and logs from the READ & RUN ME, please follow the instructions in the box below:

SP3 worked fine until I updated it, then I had slowdowns and network problems. Hard to tell if it is having problems with software I installed or what but we are talking a 3 or 4 minute boot time. I never used Avast before either and that hangs quite a bit now and generally after a few hrs the system runs slow. BUT this PC was having slowdowns before I clean installed Windows so I don't know maybe it's conflicts with hardware and software too.
Before I installed anything or updated though...faster than ever boot up and smooth as butter.

    Hi TLTD,

If it worked fine until you updated it, you can either go back to a restore point which precedes the updates, or you can use the uninstall programs which come with each update. These are stored in the WINDOWS folder under C:\ and they should have a date next to them to indicate when they were installed. It might be easiest to uninstall the lot of them and then manually update them to see if you can find which ones are causing trouble.

If you're having trouble with Avast, try AVG and see what happens. I don't know which software companies have prepared for SP3. If you decide to switch anti-viruse programs, be sure to download the installation program for the new one to somewhere where you can find it. Then disconnect from the internet and disable the one you're using BEFORE you unintall it. Then reboot and install the new one BEFORE reconnecting to the internet. Then download the updates and see if a different antivirus works better with SP3.

There are a lot of trial versions too, which will give you a better idea if it's a problem with software or only with the SP3 updates.

    Thanks for the feedback.
