Digital Copies Not Playing

Hey all

Anyone else have issues trying to open Digital Copies of movies. I can't get any of mine to open on Windows Player 12 or VLC player. All I get is a message saying

Windows Media Player Encountered a Problem While Playing the File

I mainly just care about getting WMP to play the files again.

I don't know if it's a Media Usage Rights issue, but the box is checked to allow in the Privacy setting.

Last time I tried to play a digital copy of a movie was before 2012 around the time Avengers was released and it was fine.

Any and all help would be appreciated

 

If this is just the one file, it could be that the digital copy is not complete or corrupted.

What kind of digital copy is it and where or how did you get it? This may help in determining possible problems.

The size of the digital file can also be a problem. The larger it is, the higher the likelihood of corruption when copying from one location to another. This especially can happen if the system and drive is strapped for resources like hard disk space, ram and cpu usage.

It's all the digital copies I received when I originally bought BluRay/DVD/Digital Combo Packs over the years. Which isn't a lot, but about 6 movies don't work anymore as they should. Music still plays fine and videos I've made myself or videos I've gotten from other people still work fine.

It's just the digital movie copies that don't anymore.

 

From my my understanding, such digital copies are usually encrypted, and when you buy it, you get a digital key that you have to use to unlock the content. You can only use this code once. If you loose it, you have to login to the website to verify it.
