Hi, I'm a new user to MajorGeek. Last night my computer got infected by some kind of virus/Malware. This is what happening:
- my wallpaper is remover and there's a black screen and it says that my ip address is this and my computer is being access by another computer and i need a spywhere program.
- at the bottom right area of the sceen there is a triangle shape icon and a pop message is repeatedly appearing to click here to fix it and when i click it Internet Explorer opens up and its showing a software name Dio Cleaner from Pcsecuritylab.com and giving the option to scan the computer for free or buy it. (by the way, once i noticed this happening i unpluged the network cable form the router, right now i'm using my work computer).
- as soon as i change my wallpaper, it came back to the same black screen.
- i uninstall lots of programs that i thought belongs to this malware from the list but there's one name "Winable", when ever i try to uninstall, it freezes my computer. I also deleted some files from the windows folder but whats happening is that screen refreshes and files came back.
Anyway its a mess. please help me. I had Norton installed which was expired and i was thinking about buying something else but ow this happened and i can't run the Norton aswell cauze its gives some error and asked to reinstall it. Please Help:cry

Run this utility:

After you've run Combofix, please follow the instructions in the READ & RUN ME FIRST

When you finish, please attach the requested logs so we can check what still needs to be done.

thanks for the reply but where is this Combo Fix file? when I click on the link it takes me to another page. sorry but this is the first time i'm doing it so i need some assistance.

So sorry! That's an old link! Here's the correct one:

1. Download ComboFix
2. Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
Note: Do not mouseclick combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.
3. When finished, it will produce a log for you. Attach this log to your next reply.

thanks. but when i download the file, my anit-virus (kaspersky) gives me warning (Malicious HTTP object <http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe//PE_Patch.UPX//catchme.cfexe//#>: detected Trojan program 'Trojan.Win32.Inject.ph'.)
