Direct X error - Win7 X64

The OS is Windows 7 64bit Home Premium. I was running the Devil May Cry 4 Benchmark as a kind of 'demo' to showcase the audio and video of a PC (yeah, I know this older benchmark is for DX9 and DX10, and Win7 has DX11, but it looks cool, and on a bumping speaker system, it sounds AWESOME!). It has been running fine for the past week or two. About 20 minutes ago, I looked at the PC and there's an error on screen saying that the benchmark has encountered an error, and do I want to send an error report. This now occurs every time when I run it in DX10 mode; in DX9 mode it runs fine. The Windows install is totally clean as of 3 weeks ago, all the drivers are current. It's weird that it ran fine in DX10 mode for about 2 weeks, and suddenly today it craps out.... suggestions? thoughts? advice?

(the PC has had VERY limited exposure to the web, so I'm 97% sure that malware is not the cause)

 

1) you should post in benchmarking scores. more likely to get help there, and everyone there is at that location for benchmarking bragging rights, so they will likely have experienced the issue!
2) i wouldn't think it'd be a directx 11 issue. its backwards compatable.
3) benchmarking? did you leave it running like a, what was the guy with the hurrican force winds vaccuum? i don't think it was bissel....it was or-something-or-other. Yeah. You might search for benchmarking in cooling sub forums, see if you find any answers.
4) hahaha, I searched the net for devil may cry 4 direct x 11 errors and this post came up. And I saw the 666 username on youtube today, did you get it? lol..now I gotta find a goat smiley, let's see...hell, he'll...bah...try again later.
