The problems seems to be a big one. When I check dxdiag and look under the "Display" tab I get this error under the notes:

"The file nv4_disp.dll is not digitally signed, which means that it has not been tested by Microsoft's Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL). You may be able to get a WHQL logo'd driver from the manufacturer."

I have no clue what nv4_disp.dll is, so I wouldn't know who the manufacturer is.

Also when I check under networking, this is what appears under the notes:

"The registry information for the service provider 'Internet TCP/IP Connection For DirectPlay' is missing or damaged.
The registry information for the service provider 'IPX Connection For DirectPlay' is missing or damaged.
The registry information for the service provider 'Modem Connection For DirectPlay' is missing or damaged.
The registry information for the service provider 'Serial Connection For DirectPlay' is missing or damaged.
You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version."

I've tried installing DirectX again but it didn't seem to do anything. If anybody could, I would greatly appreciate it.
    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks for the try.

that's your display driver.. NVidia style. do you have a WHQL signed detonator installed ? or a beta?

I'm not sure if it's WHQL signed but I do have Nvidia Detonator, I installed the one that was released yesterday.

It'll be fine... unless you're actually having problems occur. Microsoft just wants you to use their drivers. It'll do that with pretty much any driver. I installed the updated NVidia driver, not the one you're mentioning, but 44.03 or something. Microsoft didn't recommend installing it, but I did anyway. Been working fine for months.

As long as you get your drivers from the vendor themselves, don't pay any attention to what Microsoft is trying to tell you about them. They're just jealous :D

The drivers released the 13 august (45.23) should be WHQL certified for all Geforce (All since 43.51 were only WHQL certified for Geforce 5)

It is a good idea to uninstall the old drivers first using Add/Remove-Programs from the Control Panel.

Well let's forget the WHQL certified drivers. I installed the drivers from Major Geeks, released yesterday. But I still have a problem with this:

""The registry information for the service provider 'Internet TCP/IP Connection For DirectPlay' is missing or damaged.
The registry information for the service provider 'IPX Connection For DirectPlay' is missing or damaged.
The registry information for the service provider 'Modem Connection For DirectPlay' is missing or damaged.
The registry information for the service provider 'Serial Connection For DirectPlay' is missing or damaged."

I've also tried deleting those specific registries and installing it again but it's still there.
