I have a GForce Megadisk from Fantom Drives. In My Documents/My Videos are about 10 directories and each one works fine except for one. Whenever I click on it, it hangs. I noticed back a while that the files were disappearing so I was able to move about 20 of them, but there is at least 100 more and although I think they're still there, I can't see them. Now when I run anti-virus scan, it just ignores that directory entirely as if it didn't exist. I tried right clicking on it and again, it hangs. Also I don't dare move any of the files off of that Hard Drive onto another one in case i transfer the virus to another hard drive. I haven't tried formatting the drive because I don't want to lose everything.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

This really does not sound anything like a malware problem. It sounds more like issues with your hard disk or file system. I suggest that you post in the Hardware Forum.

If you do with to search your PC for malware you can do the below. We may or may not find any malware, but even if we do, I doubt it would have anything to do with your problem.

To check for malware, please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions. If something does not run, write down the info to explain to us later but keep on going. Do not assume that because one step does not work that they all will not.

i use AVG, Ad-Aware, SPYBOT, and i ran the free scans from avast, kaspersky and trend micro. the reason i believe it is malware is because all the files in the directory were downloaded from limewire. AND i didnt bitzi every file. i usually send my files to bitzi if they havent been logged, but on that day, i didnt. so i dont know which file is the culprit. FANTOM doesnt offer diagnostics so i wont be buying their product again. got a good deal. so if it is a hardware problem, i'll just throw the crap in the garbage. could it be a cluster type virus? or is it something new you guys havent heard about yet?
