User accounts, manage another account. You should be able to delete it from there

From a cmd prompt (right click and run as Administrator to be safe) type this
    Code:
    net user guest /active:no
If you wish to enable it when you have another guest coming, just type the above but change the no to yes.

Unfortunately there is no facility to disable/remove/delete any account in that folder, but thank you for replying. Now plodr would you please take me step-by-step on how to use cmd prompt as admimistrator, as it is one of the methods I am not at all very familiar with, and thank you for replying. by the way I have an admin account. boneyeye

On plodr's behalf, as she doesn't seem to be online atm, type cmd in Start > Search. You should see cmd.exe appear above so right click that and click Run as Administrator. Then type the command plodr gave you. The syntax has to be exact.

This administrator has more power than your Administrator account - confusing innit? ;)

Plodr I have now found out how to run cmd prompt as admin but it is the path I am stuck on. tried it a few ways but did not work. Would be grateful if you could illustrate the proper pathway and I will copy it. Thank you again, and I will certainly educate myself on command prompt. Boneyeye.

Mamboma ,got it, thank you all so much, As I am an OAP my next learning point is command prompt. It is said in Ireland here "if you do not learn something every day you have not lived". How true it is and true it is to be true. Just Gaelic Lingo. Again, thank you all for replying, Boneyeye.

I'm not sure what you a saying with that.
Anyway, if you mean you are not a twenty, thirty or forty something, welcome to the club. I am in my late 60's and when I started with computers, everything was done with commands.
Thanks goodness for icons and clicking to run things because if you mistype something, it could end up disasterous using the cmd prompt.

I agree with you both Plodr&Mamboma, I have been using compts since 2000 and now can look after a lot of the security for my friends, as a hobby .Again as is often quoted " there is more than one way of skinning a cat", and I am an animal lover. Thank you all again. Boneyeye.
