Ok an idiot who thinks he knows about computers disable 2 things in Services..

    Remote access connection manager
    and
    Remote procedure call (RPC)

after i rebooted i my computer is all messed up and i searched to see what has happened,i quickly found out they shouldnt have been messed with as they are essential for windows to function properly,i cannot copy/pase stuff, when i right click on a link and try to open in new window it wont let me... i cant get into my email account.

I tried to start it again and it hasnt even got the option to start highlighted when u right click it

i searched google and found this page that might relate to my problem
    http://www.kbalertz.com/kb_838428.aspx
i followed the guide to try and fix it via safe mode and regedit and it didnt work... ive run registry mechanic with no success...

please if u can help me ... thanks

Ok i tried in command prompt and got the same error for each command :(
    ---------------------------

    C:\Documents and Settings\03>net start rpcss
    System error 1058 has occurred.

The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it.

Download the boot disk from HERE. Downloand disk 1, 2, 3, 4, makeboot.exe, and makebt32.exe. Save the files to C:\bootdisk, unzip the 4 zip files.

To create floppy disks for starting the system

    1. Insert a blank, formatted, 1.44-MB disk into the floppy disk drive on a computer that is running any version of Windows or MS-DOS.

    2. Insert the Windows 2000 Professional operating system CD into the CD-ROM drive.

    3. Click Start, and then click Run.

    4. In the Open box, type
    c:\bootdisk\makeboot.exe a:
    5. Click OK.

    6. Follow the screen prompts to finish the installation.

    To enter the Command Console

    1. Click Start, and then Run

    2. In the Open box, type
    cmd
    3. Click OK.

    To enter the recovery console

    1. Insert either your Windows 2000 CD-ROM or the first Windows 2000 Setup boot disk into the proper drive, and then restart your computer.

    2. Press a key to start Windows 2000 Setup from your CD-ROM, or follow the instructions on the screen if you are using Windows 2000 Setup boot disks.

    3. At the Welcome to Setup page, press R to repair a Windows 2000 installation, and then press C to use the Recovery Console.

    4. In the Recovery Console, press the number key for the Windows 2000 installation that you want to repair, and then press ENTER.

NOTE that if you press ENTER without pressing a number, the Recovery Console quits, and your computer restarts.

    5. When the Recovery Console prompts you for a valid administrator password, type your administrator password, and then press ENTER.

Skip line 2 of the intructions you don't need the CD to make the boot disks, just the files I told you to download.
