Disappearing text resulting in error messages and unable to open programs.

Hello!

I have been having a problem that seems similar to a thread started on 1-05-09 by morallybankrupt, however when reading that thread there seemed to be no conclusion and I wanted to see if that is the solution I should try as well.

After using my computer for a period of time, text will begin to disappear throughout the website/program I am running. Error messages will begin to pop up, but I am unable to read them since the text is missing. I am then unable to open any other programs or the start menu and the text under desktop icons also disappears. I then must manually turn off my computer. The problems disappear after that but end up coming back after a period of time.
