Disconnecting problem :(

Hello everyone, I have a little problem. My whole internet will be working fine but about 1-3 times a day my connection will go off for about 2-10 minutes each time. According to MSN troubleshooter, it's a dns and keyports problem, sometimes I have to use the MSN troubleshooter to fix my connection. Please off any bit of advice as i'm willing to try anything.

Hi there try running this http://www.majorgeeks.com/CCleaner_Slim_d4191.html when you run ccleaner it will clear out all cookies from your browsers cache, you could also try flushing your dns cache follow the instructions given :

In Microsoft Windows, you can use the command ipconfig /flushdns to flush the DNS resolver cache:


Open your Command prompt and type into it :

ipconfig /flushdns
Then press enter
Windows IP Configuration
Successfully flushed the DNS Resolver Cache.


You can also use the command ipconfig /displaydns to view the DNS resolver cache.

Have you been in touch with your ISP and told them about the problem, It may be a problem at their end, get in touch with them then let us know what they have to say first ! Then i'll try other some options with you !

Hey, I think I have fixed the problem now! I researched my router model number and loads of people were having the same problems, it was a regular that the router would overheat. I have borrowed my uncles spare router and it's been excellent and working perfectly for about 12 hours now and not 1 disconnection yet. Fingers crossed!
