Discussing Avira Antivir Rescue System?

It seems every time I bring this topic up it gets deleted, I posted about it in another thread and the post was removed from that thread.

Normally I use an Avira Antivir rescue system cd, on every field call I make. I find it highly effective and it is nice not having fight with malware and rootkits running in memory as the rescue system boots from linux.

My question is why is it so taboo to discuss?

I brought up another useful tool, ninite.com many many moons ago and that too was deleted asap.

It seems a little silly to be on a site called major geeks, yet not be able to have a serious discussion about a great tool like the avira rescue cd.

The free avira rescue system boots to linux and scans using the most recent definitions. It is updated on a daily basis perhaps more than that, so downloading and burning a new cd for each malware removal job is a given.

Because you are booting from the cd, and not the infected drive you would be more likely to detect rootkits as they are not running in memory. Not only that but it not having to deal with malware running in the background in general while trying to remove it makes the process much more efficient and easier in general.

I really think that the rescue cd would make a great addition to the tools in the malware removal guide. For me it's a must on a field call. I hate trying to remove virii or malware while they are loaded in memory. I think a smarter approach is to scan the drive from linux (as avira rescue system does) or from another clean computer.
