dish dvr 625

    have a dish dvr 625 and bought a wd usb dvr extender. Plugeed it in to the dvr and it was recognized, but unable to manage. Dish tech support unable to help, any software or suggestions on how to record or transfer to the dvr..my dvr hard drive is full and I want to transfer some programs to make more space. Thanks

    I do not have a Dish DVR but I think those recording could be encrypted and can only play back on your DVR.

    thanks, but the problem is not being able to access the hard drive on the dvr, the external dvr extender is supposed to connect via the usb and allow a transfer of files, the dvr does recognize the dvr extender but states that it is "not enabled". Dish said that they have software for other models but not the 625 and suggested that there may be software available "somewhere out there".
