I've got a problem with one of the user accounts on a computer of mine. It seems as though malware called 'Disk Doctor' has hijacked the system. It has removed all desktop icons and keeps on causing error messages to pop up, such as 'hard drive error.' It looks like it is trying to be an antivirus program, and that it is attempting to fix the computer. It is clear that it is malware though. Anyone have any advice?

Thank you for your attention. I have tried to to perform all of the steps listed in that link, even before I posted my original request. The problem is, any time I try to run any of the programs, an error box appears and says, 'errors encountered while performing the operation.' So, in effect, I can't get any of the programs to run to even generate a log.

Have you tried safe mode? Have you tried renaming them? Which scans won't run? Did you try logging intl another user account? We really can't do much to help you without seeing any logs.
