disk management turmoil

so I'm attempting to create a mirrored drive.

I currently have 3 hdd in the machine.
1 - 250GB which has OS installed
1 - 250GB that was going to be used as mirror
1- removeable sata hdd.

I install a fresh copy of Win 7 pro on one hdd drive C:

and went into disk management to setup the mirror. The second internal hdd which was going to used as mirror showed up in disk management, however did not have a drive letter. I couldnt format the drive nor assign it a drive letter. My only option was "delete volume" so I did and thus the hdd dissapeared from disk management and won't come back.

so my question is, how do I get the second internal hdd to reappear in disk management and format it so I can create a mirror?

also the removeable drive, I'm suppose to some how create a second mirror which copies the entire system over but "mirror drive" s not a selectible option.

When I "Rescan Disks" within disk management, the drive does not reappear.

Also, it does show up in BIOS. and all drives are Sata btw.

 

Well I got things sorted, kind of -

I was able to create the mirror on the 2nd drive. however, I still can't figure out how to create the third on the removeable drive. yet.
